Forecasts for our area continue to indicate the potential for strong winds, hail and possible tornadoes from mid-morning to late afternoon. Windy conditions are expected to persist after the front moves through the area, leading to freezing temperatures overnight.
Plan for Monday operations:
Out of an abundance of caution, and due to the potential for severe weather, all in-person classes and all university offices will shift to remote instruction and operations on Monday, March 16, and all in-person activities will be canceled.
Faculty should work with their department chairs and deans to ensure missed in-person instructional content is covered through remote learning and that course continuity is maintained.
Students, faculty, and staff who are already on campus may remain in place for their safety and leave when they feel it is safe to do so.
Augusta University employees should work remotely. Essential personnel will be notified by their supervisor if they are required to report in person.
Students and faculty with clinical responsibilities will receive additional information from their leadership. Those at regional clinical campuses should follow the guidance provided by their deans.
Residence halls will remain open for students who live on campus; students will receive additional details regarding transportation and dining from Housing and Residence Life. Atrium Dining will be open as usual, with the exception of dinner service, which will close at 8 p.m.
Additionally, all student-support buildings on campus, including Greenblatt Library, Reese Library, the Campus Recreation Center and the Jaguar Student Activities Center, will be closed on Monday, March 16.
Adjustments to shuttle operations will be updated on the PassioGo website and the app.
