Augusta University is hosting Pre-Law Day from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Nov. 4 in the ballroom of the Jaguar Student Activities Center. The event is open to all Augusta University students and alumni.
The event includes a panel with regional law schools, a panel with local law practitioners, a networking break and a Q&A session on law school. Chief Judge Daniel C. Craig of the Superior Court for the Augusta Judicial Circuit will attend as a special guest.
Pre-Law Day is hosted by the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences; the Department of Social Sciences; and Career Services.
Event leadership encourages all interested students to attend, as there is a longstanding misconception that only students of certain disciplines get accepted to law school.
“This event is targeted at all students, as law schools look for applicants with majors outside of political science and criminal justice,” said Dr. William Hatcher, professor in the Department of Social Sciences in Pamplin College.
In compliance with Augusta University guidelines, fully vaccinated attendees are not required to wear face coverings to the event. Unvaccinated individuals are strongly encouraged to wear face coverings and practice social distancing.
Guests can RSVP online. Students can earn Paw Points for this event on JagLife.
