Nursing recognition from Georgia Department of Corrections Board and Commissioner’s Office

Four correctional healthcare nurses were recently recognized by the Georgia Department Board of Corrections and Commissioner Ward for outstanding service in their field.

Presenting the awardees with a Governor’s proclamation and Commissioner’s coins, the Department of Correctional Healthcare nurses were celebrated at the Board of Corrections meeting in Glenville, Georgia.

Nurses awarded include:

  • Julie Mixon, lead nurse — Emmanuel Probation Detention Center
  • Brenda Braswell, staff nurse — Columbus Transitional Center
  • Haroldean Harvey, licensed practical nurse — Augusta Transitional Center
  • Megan Berryman, staff nurse — Whitworth Women’s Facility
