The GRU Augusta men’s outdoor track and field team is ranked 28th in the country for NCAA Division II Outdoor Track and Field, according to the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association’s most recent ranking released March 24.
The Jaguars sit 28th in the top 100 and are one of eight Peach Belt Conference schools to earn a national accolade. PBC associate members Nova Southeastern (No. 14) and Alabama-Huntsville (No. 33) join the Jags in the top-40, as well as UNC Pembroke (31st).
Columbus State sits 51st, Shorter is 55th and Florida Tech is 71st (both associate members), while Clayton State is rounds out the PBC schools in 78th.
GRU has competed in four meets on the year and has finished in the top 10 in every single one and placed in the top-three on three different occasions, taking second at the Columbus State Cougar Invite to highlight the year so far on Feb. 28, 2015.
The Jaguars compete at the Emory Classic March 27-28 in Atlanta, Ga.
