On this week’s episode of In the Wild, Brennan Francois, chief diversity officer for Augusta University Health, explains what medical mistrust is and how it affects patient-provider relationships, especially for Black Americans. He describes what AU Health does to build trust within the community and how his role in the health system supports employees and patients.

Also, Biplab Datta, PhD, assistant professor in the Institute of Public and Preventive Health and in the Department of Population Health Sciences, discusses the new edition of the Healthy Georgia Report. This report compiled by Augusta University faculty and staff highlights how Georgia compares to the Southeast and nation in more than 20 health factors, such as hypertension, cardiovascular disease, tobacco usage and more.
