Hopkins Tirrell to leave AU Medical Associates

Amanda Hopkins Tirrell, chief operating officer of Augusta University Medical Associates, will be leaving AU Health at the end of June to pursue opportunities outside of the area.

Augusta University Medical Associates CEO Dr. Julian Nussbaum will assume oversight of her current responsibilities and will meet with AUMA physician and administrative leaders to address other operational changes following Hopkins Tirrell’s departure.

During her time with AU Medical Associates, Hopkins Tirrell continuously engaged physicians in efforts to improve patient care. She initiated partnerships to retool and repair key revenue cycle processes, helped lead and launch the revenue cycle transformation project, sponsored workgroups for patient-centered medical home expansion and advanced practice provider integration. In addition, she rekindled the Academic Group Practice Committee to advance quality and develop clinical practice standards and spearheaded the AU Medical Associates value-based care transformation strategy.
