Heroes in Health Care: Nov. 30 – Dec. 4

Every week, Jagwire highlights the exceptional care shown by our GRHealth medical professionals in a segment we like to call “Heroes in Health Care.”

This week’s installment of Heroes in Health Care begins in the Comprehensive Adult Epilepsy Program, where the staff have made a habit of treating their patients like family.

“They treated me as if they had known me forever,” one patient said. “The nurses and staff made me feel like I was very important in the care that was shown to me.”

Another patient of the program said, “Despite the four-hour drive it would take me to get there, I would gladly come back and recommend this practice.”

Next we move to Neurology, where Dr. Ned Pruitt, director of the MCG Neurology Residency Program, shows his patients the same level of courtesy.

“I love Dr. Pruitt,” one patient said. “He is awesome. When I am in his office, I feel like I’m the only patient. He always listens with compassion.”

Over in Pain Management, Gwendolyn Williams and Stacy Lloyd got a special shout out from a thankful patient.

“Gwen and Stacy were both caring and outstanding,” one patient said. “Thank you!”

Dr. Brian Lane, interim section chief of minimally invasive and digestive diseases surgery, also earned a bit of glowing praise alongside his staff.

“The staff from beginning to end makes you feel like you’re their only patient,” one patient said. “Dr. Lane is a genius.”

Another patient, extremely grateful to Lane, said they were determined to make him a “hugger.”

“Dr. Lane is always very kind, brilliant and compassionate,” the patient said. “I’m going to have to make a hugger out of him.”

And to round us out this week, we move to the Bone Marrow Transplant and Hematology Malignancies, where Dr. Jeremy Pantin is making good impressions for all of us.

“I’m very thrilled and impressed to have Dr. Pantin as my doctor,” one patient said. “GRHealth is a great medical center!”

Please join us in congratulating our colleagues for their hard work and dedication to providing excellent patient care outcomes!
