UPDATE 11:45 a.m.
Update provided by Information Technology
A portion of the Health Sciences campus has lost utility power. At this this, the following buildings are confirmed to be affected:
- CN Cancer Research Center
- CA Interdisciplinary Research Center
- CB Sanders Research & Education Building
- EC Health Sciences Building
- EG Stoney Building – Outpatient Psychiatry
Other buildings may be affected as well. We believe all hospital systems are operational, however some lab analysis equipment in the medical center was rendered temporarily inoperable due to the power blink that occurred.
Known impacts
- The buildings listed above are without power. Their computers are non-functional. Telephones in these buildings should remain operational for a short time on battery power, however they will go down soon if power is not restored.
- Lab results within the medical center will be delayed while lab staff work to return their analysis equipment to service.
Georgia Power is working to restore service as quickly as possible. Their current estimate for return to service is 1:00 pm EDT.
