Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home honors residents on Veterans Day

Nearly 150 resident veterans at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home were honored today at the annual Veterans Day Ceremony at the Georgia War Veterans Nursing Home. Col. Mark L. Mitchem, U.S. Air Force Commander of the 480th Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance Group, was guest speaker and the 282nd Army Band, Detachment 1 provided the patriotic music.

This was the first official ceremony for new Georgia War Executive Director Carlton Deese and the first event in the Charles Esposito Courtyard since it was renamed for Esposito, who retired Oct. 1.
