Former Augusta mayor Deke Copenhaver returns to alma mater for Town and Gown event

Former mayor of Augusta Deke Copenhaver is coming to Augusta University to discuss his new book The Change Maker from 6-8 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 26, at University Hall, room 170.

Each semester, the Master of Public Administration program organizes a Town and Gown speaker series to get public servants to talk to students about their careers in public service.

“For our Town and Gown series, we select speakers that demonstrate how public service can help build communities,” said Dr. William Hatcher, director of the MPA program.

“Mr. Copenhaver is a longtime supporter of our MPA program, champion of our community and an alumnus of our bachelor of arts in political science degree,” he added.

The event is free and open to the public. A reception will immediately follow.

Contact Dr. Hatcher with questions. Learn more about the MPA program.
