Federal COVID-19 vaccine guidance: Employees can now file documentation

A recent Presidential Executive Order will require most federal contractors, including federal contractors within the University System of Georgia, to comply with COVID-19 guidance from the Safer Federal Workforce Task Force. Read details of the order.

Employees covered by this order work on or in support of federal contracts, or in the same workplace as employees who work on or in support of federal contracts.

In order to meet this requirement, employees must complete one of the following steps. The JagSafeVax portal is designed to guide individuals through the process of documentation and requesting exemptions. All covered employees are required to provide their vaccination status in the JagSafeVax portal.

  • If you are fully vaccinated, document your vaccine status in the portal and follow the prompts. You will need a digital copy of your vaccine documentation. We recommend taking a photo using a smart phone and uploading to the site. If you are partially vaccinated or unvaccinated, you must receive the second dose of a two-dose series (Pfizer-BioNTech or Moderna) or the first dose of a single-dose series (Johnson & Johnson) by Jan. 4, 2022. Upon vaccination, you will upload your proof of vaccination.
  • If you wish to request an accommodation/exemption for a disability, medical condition or a religious belief, you will follow the prompts listed in the JagSafeVax portal.
  • Schedule a vaccination appointment at AU Health, or contact Employee Health at 706-721-3418 or by email.

We know many of you have questions, and we are working diligently to provide support to our employees. More information is available on our resource site. For immediate questions, please contact Human Resources or call the human resources COVID-19 vaccine hotline at 706-721-1896.
