Dr. Mary-Kate Lizotte has article published in the Journal of Political Marketing

Congratulations on your publication, Dr. Mary-Kate Lizotte!

Lizotte, assistant professor in the Department of Social Sciences in the Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities, and Social Sciences at Augusta University, worked with Dr. Heather Meggers-Wright, clinical psychologist at the Behavioral Health Clinic of Wausau, to study the negative effects of calling attention to the attractiveness of female political candidates.

Titled, “Negative Effects of Calling Attention to Female Political Candidates’ Attractiveness,” Lizotte works to investigate why this attention towards attractiveness affects voter evaluations, including a focus on current research and the theory of role congruity. Their article was picked up for publication by the Journal of Political Marketing.
