Doug Joiner awarded grant for new play

Doug Joiner, a lecturer in the Department of Communication in Pamplin College of Arts, Humanities and Social Sciences, was recently awarded the Porter Fleming Foundation Grant.

The Porter Fleming Foundation Grant was created “to aid persons of talent” in the arts to complete a specific project or a line of work, which may lead that individual towards fulfillment in their respective field.

Joiner plans to use the grant for writing his next play.
