The Office of Critical Event Preparedness and Response is hosting a Preparedness Fair on Sept. 27 in recognition of National Preparedness Month.
September is National Preparedness Month, and it’s an opportunity for individuals, businesses and agencies to check supplies and ensure they are ready for severe weather and any other event which may disable basic utilities such as heat and AC, cause injuries and damage homes and property.
Several local agencies will be manning tables during the fair, such as Richmond County Emergency Management, Augusta University Public Safety, the Georgia Department of Public Health’s Medical Reserve Corps and more.
The Preparedness Fair will be held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Magnolia Room of Terrace Dining, and there will be door prizes in addition to information tables.
Everyone is encouraged to stop by and learn what steps they can take to be certain they’re prepared for an emergency.
