Forecasts for the CSRA show the potential for extremely cold temperatures and hazardous, icy road conditions following the 3 to 5 inches of snow that fell on Saturday. Protecting the safety of our AU community remains the university’s top priority.
Plan for Monday operations
Out of an abundance of caution, and due to the potential for extremely cold temperatures and black ice on roadways, all in‑person classes and all university offices will shift to remote instruction and operations on Monday, Feb. 2, and all in-person activities will be canceled.
Faculty should work with their department chairs and deans to ensure missed in-person instructional content is covered through remote learning and that course continuity is maintained.

Individuals with prior travel authorization should coordinate with their supervisor regarding any adjustments to ensure safety.
Students and faculty with clinical responsibilities will receive additional information from their leadership. Those at regional clinical campuses should follow the guidance provided by their deans.
Residence halls will remain open for students who live on campus; students will receive additional details regarding transportation and dining from Housing and Residence Life. Atrium Dining will be open for brunch from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and dinner from 5 to 8 p.m. on Monday. Students who need resources for assistance during these extremely cold days can reach out directly to the Office of the Dean of Students.
Additionally, all student-support buildings on campus, including Greenblatt Library, Reese Library, the Campus Recreation Center and the Jaguar Student Activities Center, will be closed on Monday, Feb. 2.
