The Jaguar Baseball team announced plans for a Pink Out Weekend on March 20 and 21 during the Peach Belt Conference series with the Armstrong Pirates at Lake Olmstead Stadium.
The Zeta Tau Alpha Greek organization at Georgia Regents University will host a “’ZTA Pink Out” to support breast cancer awareness at the GRU Augusta baseball game on Friday, March 20 at 6:00 p.m. against Armstrong and at Saturday’s doubleheader, which begins at 1 p.m. All fans are encouraged to wear pink.
The Jaguar baseball team and coaching staff will wear pink cancer-awareness wristbands provided by ZTA. ZTA will be on site for Friday and Saturday at the games to take donations, sell food and drinks, and pass out “Think Pink” ribbons to fans in attendance as well as information cards on cancer awareness. There will be iPads available for women who want to sign up for monthly reminders and updates on the initiative. All proceeds go towards helping fight cancer.
During the games, breast cancer survivors will be honored, including four mothers of baseball players who will throw out first pitches to their sons.
