Augusta University was recently recognized as one of the top institutions in the nation by two different rankings and review sites, including moving up into the top 8% for best colleges of value.
For the second straight year, AU moved up in the U.S. News and World Report rankings, improving 23 places over last year. This marks a 59-spot increase since the 2024 rankings.
“These rankings not only reflect the strength of Augusta University’s academic programs, but also the commitment our outstanding faculty and staff have made to ensure our students have access to innovative learning experiences that prepare them for success in the workforce,” said Augusta University President Russell T. Keen. “Every day, our work leads to life-changing, life-saving discoveries. The impact our students, faculty and staff make is felt not only here in Georgia but around the world.”
AU was also ranked in the top 25% in the nation in five categories by Niche, a rankings and review site.
- Top 8% for best value colleges
- Top 10% for colleges with the best professors
- Top 21% for best colleges in America
- Top 22% for top public universities
- Top 25% for best academics
Additionally, Niche ranked numerous AU programs nationally, including top 12% for information technology, top 14% for biology and top 21% for chemistry.

In the state of Georgia, Niche ranks AU second for best college of value, third for top public universities, fourth for best colleges for biology and fifth for best professors. AU is also sixth in the state for best colleges, seventh in nursing and computer science programs, ninth in psychology programs and overall academics and 10th in history programs.
AU was also ranked in the top 16% of Division II institutions on the 2025 Quid Higher Education Social Media Engagement Report. The team behind the report surveyed 667 colleges and universities between June 1, 2024, and May 31, 2025, to be able to rank Division I and II institutions across Instagram, Facebook, X (Twitter) and TikTok to deliver engagement benchmarks and standout trends. AU moved up 156 spots to 47th and is 18th in TikTok engagements.
