Augusta University and DCG closing at 1 p.m. today, hospital and medical clinics remain open

Due to inclement weather, Augusta University, including the Dental College of Georgia, and East Georgia State College Augusta will close at 1 p.m. today. AU Health System and its clinics will remain open.

Classes and student activities on all Augusta campuses have been cancelled, and university faculty and staff should not report after 1 p.m. Shuttles on the Teal Route will continue to run until 2 p.m. Health Sciences Campus shuttles will continue on their normal schedule, road conditions permitting.

Augusta University Health System operations will continue as normal, and faculty and staff should report as scheduled.

Atrium Meal service, Wellness Center, and the Health Science Student Center will operate as scheduled and begin holiday hours starting Saturday morning.

In the interest of safety, please be reminded to exercise good judgment and caution traveling today.

A significant storm is making its way toward the Augusta area, with its current path to the south of the CSRA. The forecast is for high winds and several inches of rain to fall over the next 24 to 48 hours. There is a flash flood watch in the area through Saturday morning.
