AU weather updates for Monday, March 16

Campus will operate as normal on Monday. Forecasts for our area indicate the potential for severe weather on Monday. Protecting the safety of our AU community remains the university’s top priority. 

University leadership is continuing to assess conditions and will provide updates to students, faculty and staff regarding campus operations. Those at regional clinical campuses should follow the guidance provided by their deans.

What to expect:

  • Monday: The potential for strong winds, hail and possible tornadoes exists from mid-morning to late afternoon. Windy conditions are expected to persist after the front moves through the area, leading to freezing temperatures overnight.
  • Learn how to prepare for a tornado and how to stay safe during a tornado.

AU operations:

  • Students: Classes and operations as usual on Monday.
  • Faculty and staff: Classes and operations as usual on Monday.
  • Wellstar MCG, MCG and DCG clinicians and specialists: Follow the guidance provided by your supervisors.

What can I do?

  • Stay connected with Augusta University’s official channels. Any changes to campus operations will be made through these platforms, including Augusta University’s homepage, Augusta University Alerts pageMyAugusta announcements and AU’s Instagram and Facebook pages.
  • Ensure you are signed up for JagAlert, AU’s automated alert system, to receive important announcements across campus, as well as RAVE Guardian to connect with Augusta University’s Police Department for both emergency and non-emergency situations.
  • Download the MyAugusta app from your app store and log in with your Augusta University single sign-on credentials for push notifications sent to your device. 
  • Adjustments to shuttle operations will be updated on the PassioGo website and the app.
