AU raises over $387,000 through annual IGIVE fundraising campaign

Augusta University employees came together in a big way this year, contributing more than $387,000 to the IGIVE employee campaign. Employee participation increased to 48% from 41% last year, with 1,961 faculty and staff donating.

Crowdfunding campaigns, like IGIVE, have become a vital part of higher education fundraising. The results from this year’s employee participation show that, when everyone chips in, even just a little, the funds add up to make a real difference for AU’s programs and initiatives. It’s a great reminder that every gift counts, and together, Augusta University’s employees can do big things.

The results included 76 departments that achieved 100% participation, earning them a pizza party.

“These 100% departments are important because they demonstrate a united commitment to our mission,” said Kelly Schulte, director of Annual Giving. “When every member of a department participates – regardless of the amount – it sends a powerful message that the people closest to the work believe in it. That unity is something donors, leadership and peers notice.”

Schulte said the Georgia Cancer Center received the most gifts from employees in this year’s campaign.

“I think this emphasizes that employees can give to where their passion lives and that they are deeply connected to causes that directly impact research breakthroughs and the well-being of our community. Cancer touches nearly every family, so employees naturally rally around an area with such personal meaning,” Schulte said.

After last year’s campaign was cut short by Hurricane Helene, the Annual Giving team was unsure what to expect this year.

“But our faculty and staff stepped up with remarkable heart. Their generosity and strong participation not only inspired us, but also lifted us 5% above our goal of 43%,” Schulte said.

This was the first IGIVE campaign for Jeff Snow, the new executive vice president for Philanthropy & Alumni Engagement, who joined AU in late August, and he was impressed with the spirit of the Jaguar Nation.

“Through IGIVE, we’ve come together to build a brighter future for our students and community. I’m deeply grateful to be part of this extraordinary institution and to serve alongside colleagues whose generosity and passion inspire me every day,” Snow said. “Every gift — no matter the size — drives the life-changing, life-saving education, groundbreaking research and compassionate care that define who we are at Augusta University.”
