The Center for Patients and Families and the Center for Bioethics and Health Policy have partnered to host a free virtual Guardianship 101 workshop presented by Heather Nadler, an attorney with Nadler Biernath, LLC.
This is a two-part workshop, with the first session scheduled for 10-11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 18. The first session will cover the basics of guardianship and conservatorship, and the second will detail filling out the petition.
This collaboration is working to meet the needs of familes who have children with disabilities and who may not reach full independence or have decision making capabilities at or after the age of 18. The process can be an unpleasant experience if families don’t know what to expect or how to navigate the court system.
RSVP is required through CBHP@augusta.edu. Call 706-721-4065 for more information.
