AU Health Employee Pharmacy to add pick-up locations, expand delivery

The AU Health Employee Pharmacy is making several changes after a month-long survey of employees.

Recently, the Augusta University Health Employee Pharmacy asked for input to better serve employees. The results of a one-month survey indicate that convenience, location and cost are most important to employees.

For employees who use outside pharmacies to fill prescriptions, the AU Pharmacy’s goal is to capture those prescriptions leaving our AU campus by making prescription pick-ups more convenient. The AU Pharmacy is adding alternative retail pharmacy locations for employees to fill medications. These new pick-up locations will include the Professional Office Building, Medical Office Building, Georgia Cancer Center and the new West Wheeler expansion off of Wheeler Road. By offering these additional locations and extending hours of operation in the coming months, we expect to be better suited to either your work area or the place you call home.

Additionally, over the next several months, AU Health Employee Pharmacy is expanding prescription delivery services from our new in-house pharmacy location to make it as easy as possible for you to get your medication. Regarding medication costs, we are negotiating current generic copay pricing with our insurance company so you can maximize savings on your prescriptions. AU Health Pharmacy has always been the preferred location on the Select and Choice Plans offered by AU Health, although we recognize the few exceptions where outside pharmacies may have lower prices.

The AU Health Employee Pharmacy team appreciates the kind words and positive comments on the survey and look forward to improving processes so all employees have the opportunity to use one of our AU Health retail pharmacies. Special thanks to the employees who participated in our four-week survey during September and October.

Please email Brent Lake, employee pharmacy supervisor, or call 706-723-0905 with additional questions about the plans to expand and improve.
