Augusta University's Spring Commencement Ceremonies will feature three student speakers: Steve Jones, Ta'zheara Butts and Christina Waller.
“He is the student that asks the really good questions and often challenges thinking and concepts at a deep level,” says Tom Colbert, PhD.
"I was determined not to give up my dream of completing my doctorate," says Lisa Byrd, EdD.
"People in this community revere the school, and it’s just a great example of if you ask, then people will help,” says Becky McKenzie.
"Her effort is relentless; she is truly a team player and is a person that I can count on to serve," says Celeste Stewart.
The Office of New Student and Family Transitions took home a second award for its 2024 LEAP Week programming.
"It was never a competition for us. We got a lot closer when we started nursing school. We decided to help each other succeed," say Azalea and Frazhier Lagora.
“One of the most valuable lessons I have gained from the program is the concept of building engagement through pedagogy,” says Shengshuai (Joshua) Shan, MD, PhD.
"Student engagement is the bridge that connects students to a transformational college experience," said ShaRon Spry Dukes, EdD.
“When I met with the school’s leadership and faculty, I saw a lot of excitement, passion and energy for the direction the school is heading," says Aaron Kruse-Diehr, PhD.
“It demonstrates the hard work of our faculty, publishing and presenting research and providing stellar service to the field and the community," says Wesley Mears, PhD.
During the 2025 legislative session, the Augusta University Government Relations team tracked more than 635 bills and resolutions that would impact AU.
“I had a personal interest because my mother-in-law had a spinal cord injury, and she had really bad neuropathic pain,” says Laura Carbone, MD.
Three featured events for everyone include the President’s Brunch, AU Jaguar baseball and softball games and the Alumni Weekend After Party.
"I always say artists should not cut a tree to make art; they should find a fallen tree or some other material to do it," says Cesar Delgado.
“This research opens new avenues for understanding cancer stem cell behavior,” says Andrew Yeudall, PhD.
“Some students have presented a number of times and are pretty well seasoned, and then there are students who are here for the first time,” says Quentin Davis, PhD.
AU was represented by Kim Capehart, DDS, Pamela Cromer, DNP, Joann Denemark, Daniel Hannah, PhD, and AU alumnus Abiodun Akinwuntan, PhD.
“This platform allows constant access to scheduling, and it is also bringing us up to industry standards," says Shelli Larkin, DNP.
