Help bring awareness during National Child Abuse Prevention Month

April is National Child Abuse Prevention Month, and unfortunately it is a serious problem in the CSRA. The Children’s Hospital of Georgia‘s Child Protection Team is bringing awareness to this issue through various events throughout the month.

Be sure to wear blue on Friday, April 5, National Wear Blue Day, to help call attention to this national problem and show your support.

Throughout April, representatives from the Child Protection Team will be distributing child abuse prevention information in Terrace Dining and other locations.

Also, be on the lookout for a new program called the Period of PURPLE Crying. Sponsored by the National Shaken Baby Prevention Center, it’s designed to provide support parents and caregivers so they better understand early increased infant crying to help reduce incidences of shaken baby syndrome/abusive head trauma (SBS/AHT).
