Members of the media were invited to tour AU Medical Center and hear about the many accomplishments thus far in the 15-year, $300 million alliance the hospital signed with Philips in June 2013.
More than 800 pieces of equipment have been installed, and several process improvements have been implemented in order to improve patient care, based on input from clinicians, staff, patients, families and a Joint Operating Committee. A few of the wins include decreasing alarm fatigue, providing a more child-friendly radiology experience, and improving patient monitoring, particularly in telemetry.
In addition, the health system has seen an annual average of about $8 million in capital expense savings.
