Angelica Walden has been selected for the role of assistant vice president for Audit, Compliance, Ethics and Risk Management at Augusta University, effective July 1.
The position was previously held by Brittney Alls, who was promoted to vice president of ACERM and chief compliance officer following the retirement of Clay Sprouse in March 2023.
Walden has worked in various capacities for Augusta University and AU Health for over 27 years, including as compliance analyst and privacy manager in Compliance and Enterprise Risk Management.
Most recently, she served as a principle investigator and policy manager in Legal, where she continued to ensure that Augusta University maintains the privacy and integrity of all confidential information.
“I am excited and looking forward to serving Augusta University in this new role,” Walden said. “I am very committed to doing my part in contributing to the continued success of the organization by ensuring that we continue to cultivate a culture in which we have the highest expectations of ethics, integrity, adherence to policies and regulations.”
During her tenure, Walden has worked on several initiatives for the health system and the university. She participated in establishing the Service Recovery Program and the Grievance Management Process. She also led the initiative to implement an electronic policy management process.
“Her experience, expertise and integrity on campus will greatly benefit our Compliance programs as we continue to build meaningful and intentional partnerships on all our campuses,” said Alls.
Angelica received her Bachelor of Business Administration in Marketing from Augusta State University and Master of Business Administration from the University of Phoenix.
She is a member of the Health Care Compliance Association and is certified in Health Care Compliance.
Although not an Augusta native, Walden considers Augusta her home. She is the proud mother of two children, Asia and Pheolian.
