DQ Mascot to deliver ice cream to children’s hospital patients

EVENT: Curly, the mascot for Dairy Queen, will make the rounds at the Children’s Hospital of Georgia Thursday, delivering ice creams to patients and families as a prelude to Miracle Treat Day. DQ’s Curly ice cream cone will share frozen treats to get everyone pumped up for Miracle Treat Day.

BACKGROUND: Miracle Treat Day is an all-day Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals fundraiser that will be held Thursday, July 27. At least $1 of every Blizzard sold in the local DQ stores will stay local, going to the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local CMN Hospital and a not-for-profit.

WHEN & WHERE: 1:30 p.m. Thursday, July 20, Children’s Hospital lobby (please arrive by 1:25 p.m. to tag along with the group to the first few patient rooms.

OPPORTUNITIES: Video, photo and interview opportunities are available with designated patients and families in order to respect patient privacy.

The 154-bed Children’s Hospital of Georgia is the second largest children’s hospital in the state, providing the highest level of pediatric critical care and neonatal intensive care, a dedicated children’s emergency room with 24/7 pediatric specialists, as well as a wide range of general and complex health care for children.
