Augusta University Cree-Walker Chair and Professor of Economics Simon Medcalfe recently shared his analysis of Augusta’s economy and predictions for the coming year during the university’s annual economic forecast.
“We do have a diverse economy,” said Medcalfe, who presents the forecast each year. “I think a lot of people sometimes think that we’re really reliant on health care and the military base, and that’s true. We do have a lot of government jobs that helped during the pandemic.”
The annual forecast is hosted by the James M. Hull College of Business. For the first time in the program’s history, the event was hosted virtually and released on YouTube.
