Students take first place at Eagle Undergraduate Mathematics Conference

Three Augusta University Jaguars brought home a victory from Eagle Nation in February.

Mathematics students Rahaf Abdelhaq, Stuart Dover and Tamara Stonebraker overtook teams from Mercer University and Armstrong State University to take first place during the Eagle Undergraduate Mathematics Conference 2016 Team Problem Solving Contest.

A test of cooperation and critical thinking, the EUMC Team Problem Solving Contest required teams of three to solve problems chosen from a wide variety of undergraduate mathematics subjects, including calculus, linear algebra and differential equations.

The Eagle Undergraduate Mathematics Conference is hosted annually by the College of Science and Mathematics and the Department of Mathematical Sciences at Georgia Southern University.
