Student Health Services to offer Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine on Thursdays

Beginning Thursday, Sept. 16, Student Health Services (SHS) will offer the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine by appointment to registered Augusta University students. Students should call 706-721-3448 to make an appointment.

This opportunity is also open to East Georgia College students who are located on the Augusta campus.

Students who have already received the first Pfizer vaccine and need their second dose are also welcome to make an appointment. These students should bring their vaccine card.

An individual is considered fully vaccinated two weeks after receiving their second dose in a two-dose mRNA series, such as of Pfizer or Moderna, or after a single-dose vaccine, such as Johnson & Johnson’s Janssen vaccine.

Students can also receive their first or second dose of the Pfizer COVID-19 vaccine at the one-day AU Health vaccine clinic from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Sept. 21 in the ballroom of the Jaguar Student Activities Center. Anyone can register for vaccination at AU Health’s Washington Square location, as well.

SHS is also hosting a Health and Wellness Fair on the same day as the vaccine clinic. That event is from 11 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. on Sept. 21 in the nearby D. Douglas Barnard Jr. Amphitheatre, with a rain location in the JSAC Breezeway. The SHS table will provide information about COVID-19 vaccination, among other health resources.

For more information, email Student Health Services or call 706-721-3448.
