Season of giving brings help to patients and families in need

For the past two months, the VolunJags and VolunTeens at Augusta University have worked tirelessly to impact the lives of patients and their families.

Working to collect donations from the medical center, all of Augusta University’s surrounding campuses and the Augusta community, these young volunteers hosted the JagMag Challenge and the ICU Donation Drive to take in over 800 magazines and over 18,000 non-perishable items.

With the support of the faculty, staff, students, volunteers and individuals in the Augusta community, the VolunJags and VolunTeens were able to make a significant impact in the lives of the patients and families at AU. These donations not only help to build a more positive experience for patients and their families but also help to strengthen the ties between the hospital and university teams.

Items collected include instant meals/breakfasts, snacks, granola bars, juices and waters, personal hygiene items and more. If you are interested in donating goods to the Augusta University Medical Center or the Children’s Hospital of Georgia, please visit the Office of Volunteer Services and Engagement for a comprehensive wish list.
