Scott resigns as health system chief operating officer

After three and a half years, Steven Scott has announced his resignation as chief operating officer of Georgia Regents Health System and Medical Center, effective Nov. 20, 2015.

“I appreciate Steven’s service during a time of incredible change for the health care industry,” said Dr. Brooks Keel, CEO of GRHealth. “I wish him well as he moves on to new challenges.”

Interim leadership will be provided by Shawn Vincent, an executive with over 20 years of experience in health care. He has served as the vice president for strategic initiatives and partnerships for Georgia Regents University and Health System since 2012. In that capacity, Vincent has overseen the groundbreaking partnerships between GRHealth and Royal Philips and the Cerner Corporation. Vincent has also been the architect of GRHealth’s successful application for the Certificate of Need in Columbia County.

“Shawn is a very capable leader, and someone who is well-known and well-respected by our staff and in our community. I look forward to working with him in this new capacity,” said Dr. Peter Buckley, Interim CEO of GRMC.
