Now in its fourth year at Augusta University, the Summer LEADership Camp is a residential conference-style program open to 36 talented rising high school juniors and seniors. The Division of Enrollment and Student Affairs sponsors this camp. This year’s camp will take place from Sunday, July16 – Thursday, July 20. Students will stay on campus in Oak Hall, Augusta’s newest undergraduate residence hall.
Registration is now open and will close when the camp is full. The cost of the camp is $385, with a deposit in the amount of $100 that is due by June 15. The final payment is due on July 7. Scholarship opportunities are available.
The Summer LEADership Camp focuses on emergent leadership topics and activities including teamwork, collaboration, communication, individual styles and group dynamics. The students participate in workshops and programs on Augusta’s Health Sciences and Summerville campuses. Events include lectures, keynote speakers, social activities and a full day at a ropes course. The camp is interactive and based heavily upon experiential learning.
After receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback from camp alumni and staff, the camp program has been further refined to meet the needs of high school students. For 2017, the schedule includes an etiquette lunch and a full day at Pointes West Confidence Course in Appling.
