The 17th annual Cares for Kids Radiothon, a three-day Children’s Hospital of Georgia fundraiser, ended Saturday, Dec. 9, with a check presentation for $214,000. On Monday, Dec. 11, when all the results were confirmed, the final tally was at $216,071 in donations and pledges for Augusta’s Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
Local iheart radio stations 104.3 WBBQ, 96.3 Kiss FM and The Bull 105.7 began broadcasting early Thursday, asking listeners to call in and become “miracle makers,” and News 12 NBC 26 kicked in with TV stories about inspirational patients at Children’s Hospital of Georgia, which is ranked one of the nation’s best academic health centers for pediatric care. Online pledges to Children’s Hospital may be made year-round.
