Preparations underway for Hurricane Irma

Augusta University and Augusta University Health officials are closely monitoring Hurricane Irma’s impact as it begins to be felt across the region.

Recognizing the devastating potential such a large storm will have on the region and acknowledging Augusta’s role in providing shelter and assistance to those displaced, earlier today, the Augusta University community received an email calling for volunteers. That email included an expedited process for volunteer registration. All volunteers will be required to undergo a background screening and to attend a brief training orientation. Following the steps provided by this form makes volunteering easy and will greatly help the efficiency of our response efforts.

In the coming days, officials will be communicating a lot of information about the storm and its potential to affect the operations of the university and health system. These updates will appear on the Jagwire page for Augusta University Alerts. Please visit this page regularly for the most up to date information.
