New Wi-Fi option comes to Augusta University campus

In an effort to encourage the Augusta University community to enjoy a better wireless experience on their personal devices, the Division of Information Technology has provided a third wireless internet option for students, faculty and staff to use for their personal devices.

AU Eduroam is now the preferred network for personal devices the following reasons:

  • Safer than other “guest” networks
  • Easier for personal devices to join vs. AU-Secure network (no need to download additional software)
  • Up to 20 times faster than AU-Guest network
  • Available at thousands of participating Eduroam sites worldwide including other institutions within the University System of Georgia

Participants can use their active AU credentials to join the network. With Eduroam, students, faculty, researchers and staff have access to no-cost, seamless, easy and secure internet access across thousands of hotspots across more than 100 countries, including most University System of Georgia universities and colleges.
