The Office of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement is celebrating all Augusta University volunteers for 2019 National Volunteer Appreciation Week.
Taking place from April 15-18, the national weeklong event is a chance to celebrate all of the volunteers who have given their time, talent, voice and support to the university and the medical center.
With events happening all week, Augusta University is celebrating volunteers and their ability to demonstrate how service can bring people together, help to create change and strengthen our community.
During the week, volunteers joined in on BINGO night (Tuesday), Volunteer Bravo Brunch (Thursday) and can enjoy National Pet Therapy Day (Friday), to name a few.
The Office of Volunteer Services and Community Engagement offers a multitude of volunteer opportunities for adults and teens, including pet therapy, Healing Arts, patient and family adviser positions, the No One Dies Alone program and more.
In 2018, volunteers served more than 23,000 hours dedicated to providing a more positive student and patient experience at Augusta University.
Don’t forget to mark your calendars for this year’s Day of Service Saturday, Nov. 2. You can help make a difference and “Lend a Paw” as you join faculty, staff, students and families of AU coming together to positively impact our community.
