Meet the 2024 Homecoming Court candidates

Augusta University is gearing up for an exciting Homecoming Week 2024 Feb. 11-17. JagNation will be “roaring loud” with pride and unity, celebrating the university’s Jaguar spirit with a fun music festival theme.

The 2024 Augusta University Homecoming court elections open Monday, Feb. 12, and close at 11:59 p.m. Thursday, Feb. 15. The election link will be sent to students through their Augusta University email. All students are encouraged to vote.

The election process is a combination of a popular vote from the student body and Homecoming Week event participation.

The Homecoming Duke and Duchess will be crowned during the Ultra Blue Fest: Homecoming Dance, which begins at 8 p.m. Friday, Feb. 16, in the Roscoe Williams Ballroom in the Jaguar Student Activities Center. Currently holding the coveted titles are Duke Omari Matthew, a digital marketing student, and Duchess Eva-Solange Joseph, a pre-nursing major.

Homecoming King and Queen candidates must be classified as a third-year undergraduate student or above. Currently holding the titles are King Kalyb Bussey, a kinesiology student, and Queen A’nasia Monford, a psychology graduate.

The king and queen will be crowned at the Homecoming basketball games held on Saturday, Feb. 17, at Christenberry Fieldhouse. Both teams will host Peach Belt Conference foe Georgia Southwestern State University with the women’s basketball game tipping off at 1:30 p.m. and the men’s game following at approximately 3:30 p.m.

Prior to the game, Augusta University alumni are invited to gather at the Homecoming Alumni Tailgate from 12:30 to 3:30 p.m. located near the baseball field adjacent to Christenberry Fieldhouse. Tickets to the tailgate are $15, which includes food by Cantina Locale, drinks and admission to the games. The first 50 tailgaters will receive a free T-shirt. Alumni attendees are also encouraged to stop by the alumni hospitality suite during the men’s basketball game located in the North Mezzanine.
