In this week’s Medical Minute, Dr. Joseph Hobbs, chairman of the Department of Family Medicine at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University, discusses how the hormone leptin may be prompting the fat packed around the organs of obese people to produce a steroid hormone that contributes to inflammation, stiff blood vessels and other things that lead to cardiovascular disease.
