Make friends, give hope on Day of Service 2016

Only a life lived for others is a life worthwhile.”  – Albert Einstein

Registration is now open for Augusta University Day of Service 2016.

The event, an annual, day-long community service effort driven by university and health system volunteers, encourages faculty, staff and students to give back to the Augusta community on a Saturday in September. This year, Day of Service falls on Saturday, Sept. 24.

The event runs from 8 a.m. – 5 p.m., however time commitments vary based on assignment.

Registration will remain open until Thursday, Sept. 22.

All volunteers will receive a free Day of Service T-shirt, which can be picked up on Sept. 21 from 11:30 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. at either the Health Sciences Building (second floor) or at the Jaguar Student Activities Center breezeway.

Last year, 970 staff, faculty, students and community members participated in Day of Service. This year, the university is hoping for an even bigger turnout.
