Lady Jags bring home university’s first national cheer title

The Augusta University Competition Cheerleaders brought home a victory at the 2017 CANAM Collegiate Cheer National Championship. The competition, which began on March 17 in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina, was the competition cheer team’s first appearance at CANAM—named in honor of the annual Canadian American Week celebration.

At CANAM, the Lady Jags were the fourth-highest scoring college cheerleading team, outscored only by advanced teams.

The competition cheerleading team’s last national appearance was at CheerSport Nationals in February 2016.
