Keel encourages Day of Service registration

The following communication was sent to the Augusta University family by President Brooks Keel.

Dear Colleague,

Our Augusta University (AU) Day of Service is the special day each year when the students, employees and families of Augusta University come together in the spirit of service to make a positive difference in our community. With more than 50 community partners onboard, this year’s event promises to have the biggest impact yet!

Please join Tammie and me on Saturday, Nov. 4, 2017, as we Lend our Paws to make BIG things happen right here at home. Whether you are volunteering with our brave veterans, beautifying one of our natural wildlife parks, or socializing with the dogs and cats at a local animal shelter, your service ensures the continued growth and prosperity of our community for years to come. Thanks to our community partners, we are able to offer a wide variety of volunteer opportunities to ensure that you can connect with the organization that speaks to your personal passions.

Not only do all participating volunteers receive the exclusive 2017 Day of Service Volunteer t-shirt, to thank you for your service, we would also like to invite all participating volunteers to join us for our first annual Day of Service Volunteer Appreciation Picnic. This family-friendly picnic luncheon will take place on Saturday, Nov 4, from 11:30 am until 1 pm, featuring delicious food, great music and good friends.

Day of Service volunteer registration opens today and runs through Sept 30. Be sure to register soon to ensure that your favorite service project is still available. Volunteer slots will go quickly. You can get more information about Day of Service and register today on our website.
