Augusta University’s annual Days of Service campaign has once again made a large impact in the surrounding area.

Collectively more than 850 volunteer hours supported more than 30 unique service projects. The estimated economic impact totaled over $20,000 in 20 days.

The volunteers for the various service projects helped make the community a cleaner, happier and healthier place to live in as our community partners have benefited greatly from the efforts.

“I am immensely grateful for the opportunity to have participated in the AU Days of Service. Our project, focused on a donation drive for paper products to support families in our programs, showcased the incredible generosity and commitment of our volunteers. The enthusiasm and eagerness of our volunteers were truly heartening. Their readiness to contribute, often earlier than planned, speaks volumes about their dedication to community service,” said Baylee Ready of Hope House Inc.

“Having a team of trained advocates who can share our message, support our events, and provide feedback will be pivotal as we work toward becoming an NCI designated Cancer Center in our state. Many of the members of our first group of volunteers are student athletes who have become engaged with us as part of the “Here to Win” partnership between GCC and AU Athletics,” added Angela Maskey of the Georgia Cancer Center
