How to solve ‘wicked’ problems with user innovation

When the problems we face don’t match up with the resources we have available, creativity is the answer. So says Scott Thorp, Chair of the Department of Art and Design and Vice President for Interdisciplinary Research.

What do Gatorade, Twitter, mountain bikes and sports bras all have in common? They solved common problems in truly uncommon ways. They were also born out of a creative process known as user innovation.
