How ‘reacting’ to the past helps students better understand it

Those who cannot learn from history are doomed to repeat it. But what about those who dare to change it?

The Jagwire team sat down recently with Dr. Andrew Goss, chair of the Department of History, Anthropology & Philosophy, to discuss his use of the “Reacting to the Past” pedagogy. Reacting to the Past consists of a series of role-playing games designed to help students better understand the characters and events responsible for creating what we deem “history.”
