Professor William Hatcher was featured in a recent WalletHub analysis of the best-run cities in America.
For the analysis, WalletHub compared 150 of the U.S.’s top cities in areas like financial stability, education, health and safety, then asked Hatcher and other local government, economic and diversity experts how to evaluate how well a city is run.
“There are many indicators: the fiscal health of the community, a lack of corruption in the government, the quality of the local education system, the community’s infrastructure, the indoor and outdoor amenities, etc,” said Hatcher, Associate Professor of Political Science and Director of the Master of Public Administration program at Augusta University. “But perhaps the most important question to ask is simply: Do people want to live in that city?”
