First Annual GRHealth Alzheimer’s Symposium to be held June 27

The Memory Disorders Program is hosting the First Annual GRHealth Alzheimer’s Symposium on Saturday, June 27, 2015, from 8:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. at the J. Harold Harrison, M.D. Education Commons.

This will be an all-day event with presentations from Georgia Regents Memory Disorders specialists as well as keynote speaker Dr. Allen Levey, Director of Emory University Alzheimer’s Disease Research Center.

The free seminar will feature presentations by Drs. John Morgan, Abiodun Akinwuntan, and Susan Fagan and Kathy Tuckey.

Symposium topics will include:
Basics of Alzheimer’s and other Dementias
Current research in Alzheimer’s disease
Memory Loss and Driving
Medications and Your Memory
Practical Pointers for Caregivers

This is an exciting opportunity for patients, families, caregivers, and anyone with questions about memory loss to learn from the experts. Cognitive screenings will be available at the symposium for anyone concerned about their memory.

Parking is available, and lunch will be provided at no cost for those who preregister. Registration is not mandatory, but it does ensure that a lunch will be available.
