With springtime approaching, it is also time for Augusta University’s annual Planning and Resource Alignment Hearings.
Open to all faculty, staff and students, the hearings provide a platform for deans, vice presidents and other administrative leaders to share progress updates on the achievements of their colleges, schools and divisions. In addition, these leaders will propose their priorities for the upcoming year, noting how their efforts align to the updated strategic plan’s strategic priorities (learning, discovery, student success, community and stewardship) and interwoven priorities (innovation; engagement; and diversity, equity and inclusion).
In its finalization stage and set to be unveiled later this spring, the updated strategic plan will help to propel Augusta University closer to reaching its vision to be a top-tier university that is a destination of choice for education, health care, discovery, creativity and innovation. Dr. Russell Keen, executive vice president for administration and chief of staff to the president, serves as a project sponsor for the strategic planning process.
“This year’s hearings serve as a bridge for the institution as we build upon the successes accomplished under Beyond Boundaries and begin to take collective action under the refreshed strategic plan,” said Keen.
This year, the hearings will return to in-person events in the Jaguar Student Activities Center Coffeehouse, Room 235, with a livestream option. Presentations are scheduled for the mornings of March 21-25, with each presentation followed by questions and feedback from a panel of the institution’s executive vice presidents.
“I am excited for this year’s hearings to unfold in person, as that was a missed component with last year’s virtual presentations,” said Dr. Neil MacKinnon, executive vice president for academic affairs and provost, who also serves as a strategic planning project sponsor.
“The hearings provide an opportunity to see a snapshot of accomplishments and allow us to identify further collaborative opportunities across the institution,” he said. “More importantly, the hearings highlight how leaders and their teams will take bold steps to help AU continue to achieve greatness, particularly with the strategic and interwoven priorities of the strategic plan.”
Visit the planning webpage for the full schedule of presentations and additional hearings materials, including the presentation template. The link to attend the sessions virtually will be posted closer to the start of the hearings.
