Engagement survey feedback sparks change at Augusta University

During the first week of March, Augusta University benefits-eligible faculty and staff will receive an email invitation from Modern Think to complete the annual Employee Engagement Survey. Augusta University leaders encourage everyone to open the email and take the survey.

Your complete and candid feedback helps establish our rank among the Chronicle of Higher Education list of Great Colleges to Work For and helps us identify ways to improve your experience as Augusta University employees.

Your input in the previous Employee Engagement Survey resulted in various improvements across the institution. Here are a just a few examples that demonstrate this:

  • Communication: Dental College of Georgia and James M. Hull College of Business leaders have implemented efforts to strengthen engagement and build community among faculty and staff within their colleges. In DCG, Dr. Carol Lefebvre has organized Donuts with the Dean sessions, and in Hull College, Dean Rick Franza has invited all faculty and staff to have a meal or coffee with him to increase communication.
  • Professional development: Human Resources and the Registrar’s Office have made concerted efforts to engage employees in professional development opportunities, which employees from both departments had requested in the previous Employee Engagement Survey.
  • Faculty, administration and staff relations: The College of Education and Campus Recreation have hosted several events to increase the feeling of community among faculty and staff members, in and out of the work environment. These events meet the need expressed by employees for more opportunities to interact and get to know one another through informal settings. The College of Education has also utilized its newsletter, COE Connections, to share information and celebrate employee accomplishments.

Read about more improvements that have been made in our next Jagwire article on employee engagement. In the meantime, please watch your email inbox for the survey from Modern Think coming the week of March 9.

Please take the survey and encourage your colleagues to do so as well.

Together, we can bring our A game!
