Bring in the first day of spring at one of the local DQ Grill & Chill locations as they give away free ice cream cones Tuesday, March 20, to help raise funds for Children’s Hospital of Georgia, the local Children’s Miracle Network Hospital.
In lieu of paying for this small, soft-serve vanilla treat, DQ patrons are invited to make a donation to help save and improve the lives of young patients who receive their care at Children’s Hospital of Georgia – the nation’s best in quality and safety.
Over the last 30 years, DQ has raised more than $100 million to help support the 170 CMN Hospitals across the U.S. and Canada. DQ officials say the free cone day provides a way to say thank you to fans for their patronage and to help generate funds for local children’s hospitals.
Participating area stores include the DQs in Grovetown, Ga. and in Augusta on Central Ave.
The 154-bed not-for-profit Children’s Hospital of Georgia is the second-largest children’s hospital in the state, providing the highest level of pediatric critical care and neonatal intensive care, as well as a wide range of general and complex health care for children. CHOG was recently ranked the nation’s top performing hospital in pediatric quality and safety by the University HealthSystem Consortium of academic medical centers.
